Collection of papers : letters and certificates, 1796-1861.

The six items in this collection were brought together by Charles Haskell. He collected letters written by John J. Crittenden, Hamilton Fish, and James McHenry. The letters discuss various political activities, dinner invitations, and payment vouchers. The two other items in the collection are certificates. One is a certificate of military appointment issued by the State of Pennsylvania to Robert Bayne. The other is a Port of Boston certificate of import for the "American vessel the Betsy Brown." The papers range in date from July 1796, to March 16, 1861.
